Tyson Fury’s recent victory over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium solidified his status as one of boxing’s greats. He had previously stated that this fight would be his last, expressing a desire to spend more time with his family. However, his wife, Paris Fury, shared her thoughts on his possible return to the ring and the only scenario that could see him don the gloves again.
Paris, who was ringside to witness her husband’s epic win in front of a record-breaking crowd of 94,000, made it clear that she believes Tyson has nothing left to prove in the boxing world. She told BT Sport Box Office, “I would like him to come home now; he has nothing more to prove. If he had anything left to do, I would say, ‘Yeah, Tyson, you do it.’ Unless he really wants to box on. If he’s just doing it for money or fame, he doesn’t need that. We’re very blessed and lucky to not need any more money. I’m happy with what we are and what we’ve got. I know in my heart the only reason Tyson would come back is for a unification fight.”
The heavyweight division is currently split among different champions, with Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk holding some of the titles after defeating Anthony Joshua. A potential rematch between Usyk and Joshua in July adds intrigue to the boxing landscape.
During the fourth round of Tyson Fury’s recent bout with Dillian Whyte, the fight took an unexpected turn. Tensions flared as the two fighters exchanged words in the ring following a clash of heads. Fury, visibly angered by Whyte, waited for the right moment to strike. The opportunity came when he delivered a powerful punch that sent Whyte tumbling to the canvas. Despite his efforts to rise, Whyte couldn’t continue, and the fight was halted, much to the dismay of the fans.
Fury’s aspirations extend beyond the boxing ring. He has expressed his desire to return to WWE and has his sights set on a potential match with two-time WWE champion Drew McIntyre.
Fury expressed his interest in participating in WWE’s first UK stadium show in 30 years, scheduled for September at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. He is also eyeing a potential appearance at SummerSlam in August. He said, “Don’t rule me out of fighting there. You might see me at SummerSlam. I’ve got to speak to Vince and the boys, maybe make this happen. I know Drew McIntyre’s been saying a lot of things about me, I have to knock him out. I’d love to be at Cardiff; I’d love to be back on center stage in the UK, especially for the wrestling. I enjoyed it last time in Saudi Arabia; it was fantastic. To come here and do it would be phenomenal. We’re going to make contact and see if we can make that SummerSlam thing a reality.”
As Tyson Fury contemplates his future, it’s clear that both his family and his fans will play a crucial role in shaping his decisions. The possibility of a unification fight in boxing and an exciting foray into the world of WWE await the Gypsy King, making his journey one to watch for fans around the world.
